Latest edition to my bookshelf – Murder On the Orient Express by Agatha Christie.

People From Different nationalities, in a  coach that is  is unusually crowded at that time of the year , witness a murder right under their nose. With Too many clues at the crime scene, detective Hercule Poirot finds asking himself too many questions. How he finds solution to all these questions is something sensational that i wouldn’t reveal.

I dint know that the Book was actually later adapted to a Hollywood movie. I am glad i dint see the movie . I am a firm believer that movies can never replace books. You lose your imagination while watching movies so I would always go for books 🙂 .

Anyways coming back to the book, I must say i had a hard time keeping the book down. It was an Enjoyable ride throughout . No ups and Downs , none whatsoever, It took me almost85 percent of the book’s pages to guess the correct murderer. I am not a good reviewer , i know that: P , so without wasting my time and yours ofcourse, i can say that if you haven’t read the book  yet or watched the movie, Go and grab one right now. You are definitely missing something.

 

BOOK review – UNTITLED by NIKHIL KUMAR

Well, this post has been due since a month i guess but better late than never the post is finally here. Got hold of the hard copy (autpographed one) of this book more than a month back 🙂 .IT was very kind of him indeed to send his book all the way from his place 🙂 .

Well, the book has 25 stories in all and each story has been well written with a unique storyline.In other words ,Each story diverges into a totally different scenario which is what makes this book even more special .Most of the stories emphasize various human emotions such as love ,anger , revenge which are well intertwined with suspense humor and drama. some stories deals with the philosophical thoughts that a human mind generates.I feel this must be hardest part from an authors point of few.But i guess nikhil has done exceptionally well to express what he really wanted to express 🙂 .

The book starts with the story titled ASCENT which i felt was rightly kept as the first one and gives a brief idea of what we can expect from the rest of the book .It just oozes out emotions as the story progresses with each line.

I really enjoyed reading some stories in the middle like RUSTIC HILL , THE BARGAIN , EVENING SHOWERS AND SIMPLE CRIME .Well, not because the others stories weren’t good , Its just the fact that these stories were more of fiction (my area of interest 🙂 ) which created suspense and intrigue engrossing my mind , but i am sure serious readers would really appreciate the other stories much more than the ones i have mentioned .

There are two stories that i cant forget to mention here. REMOTE WAR and THE INNER WORKINGS OF A FEMALE BRAIN .The common thing in both the stories is humor . The former basically deals with the a very important day to day activity in a every middle class family “remote wars” 😛 .Each line has a its own share of humor and the way nikhil has written the story with a different perspective makes it all togethor even more funny 😆 . The latter one titled THE INNER WORKINGS OF A FEMALE BRAIN would surely be one of the best picks from the book not because of the content (which i feel is 99 percent true ) but because the way nikhil has crafted it . The story deals with most enigamatic creatures of the universe WOMEN 😉 .

The female brain has quickly analysed the greatest weakness that the Y-chromosome accords to us.It is that ,While the man has to spend his time,money and efforts to woo a girl ,she on the other hand just has to smile , and the guy’s hers!

These are few lines from it.Probably every guy reading this must be coming up with the same phrase how true !!! 😛 and most girls would certainly disagree 😉 .

Another story worth mentioning it is TRANSIENCE Which was adjudged as one of the best stories in a contest organized by a TIMES OF INDIA. A simple story yet something that grasps ur attention.For me all other stories too looked equally well .May be because i am not into voracious reading and have a limited range of books that i read.

And a final appreciation to AKHIL C.R whose did a wonderful job by clicking some realistic and apt pictures for each story .

HARRY POTTER FAN ARRESTED FOR PIRACY

A french teenager was arrested on charges for piracy for unauthorized translation of the last book “HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS” in french. The book is officially scheduled  to be released on 26th october.

“HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS” casts a spell again

Harry potter is not only the favourite novel among the fiction lovers but also for the internet communnity it is one of the c HIT posts. Posts related to the famous J.k.rowling books are one of the HOT topics now with so much of anticipation due to the world wide release of the book. Still its quite queer that, curious people who cant wait for the book keep searching for a leaked version of the book.They are just getting crazy abt the book..This encourages people to release some of their own imagination (fake one) in the net.This is what we call as “spoilers”.

The magic of harry potter series has not left even the bloggers.With posts on this topic getting wide responses .I too tried posting one topic on the book. check my previous post on the book.

*An immediate rise to glory.within one hour after i posted that topic i was able to get around 500 visitors.

*My blog was rated no 1 in the world’s fastest growing blogs at wordpress .

*i used to reseave an average of about 100 – 150 Visits daily.but after this post i got a whopping 1994 hits in one day.

Not only mine if u see the wordpress dashboard u can see many top posts in the top 100 post on harry potter book. anyway soon the craze and curiosity would calm down ,then i have to wonder which post can give me the instant glory again. 🙂

This acheivement  is enough for me to brag “one day of glory in internet” 🙂 . and perhaps this will be enough to motivate me to continue blogging  for the next couple of years 🙂 .

Harry potter and the deathly hallows spoilers

Finally the much awaited day has arrived , Its high time now to go and purchase one of ur own ” harry potter and the deathly hallows ” book and complete the collection and also for the heck of stopping the spoilers prejudicing our mind 🙂 . There have have been many speculation on how the last and the seventh book should end. One of the spoilers claim that harry potter kills himself just for putting an end to voldmourt. Some people even justify by saying that killing harry at the last book would add him to the epic super heroes .However fans are quite aprihensive abt it. According to another spoiler it has a fairy tail ending with harry and ginny marrying and even hermione and Ron getting settled down together.

Today when i took the newspaper i found another spoiler waiting in the first page.

“bellatrix kills ron using the avada kedavara spell
hagrid is killed by snape in an attempt to ambush Ron and Hermione .

Lord voldemort attacks hermione through the imperious curse and hermione,while trying to save Rons life ,fights for another 6 pages inj the end and finaaly dies.”

I hope this is not the real one, being hermione fan i would never want her to get killed 🙂 .Ofcourse there is no mention of harry being killed .Anyway the only way now left to put an end to all these spoilers is to get the original version.

WEll ,the response to this post has been so overwhelming . It never occured for me that ppl are so crazy and impatient they just keep peeping into various sources for finding the ending of harry potter seires.people are just pouring into my blog searching for “harry potter and the deathly hallows spoilers “,deathly hallows ending” harry potter ending”

Well one thing i have found is that if u give something informative no traffic comes and when u post as rubbish as spoilers traffic goes berserk .Isn’t it ironical and also sardonic???? 🙂 Even now i find people lookingfor summary on harry potter summary, plot, yesterdayit got released and u can find ppl reviewing it already on net.perhaps they just turned to the last page for checking out the last few paragraghs of the story to kill the suspense 🙂
