The massive campaign which started 2 years ago gave its fruit today when obama won the majority votes and created history by making into the white house inspite of being african-american who were once treated as slaves .As obama says change is finally here . He will be the 44th president of the United states.
Did any of you hear his speech ?? It was awesome .Well, now I have just one question –
Will the indian outscourcing/IT industry get a blow after he comes to power ??
MNS activists attacked the students at the railway exam centers today morning for the only reason that they were not maharashtrians . These perverted acts of violence are not new to us anyway .Remember earlier this year when they they attacked north indian workers in mumbai and the remarks made on amitabh bhachan .
The most depressing and shocking fact is that they even justify it by saying that they want only local students to attend it.There were Protests like this earlier too at some engineering college where they demanded 90 percent reservation for the locals. This is silly . Every Indian whether from north ,south ,east or west has the right to study or work at his choice of place .Doesn’t he ?? If not whats the use calling ourselves citizen of independent india . Right to freedom which is one of the fundamental rights of our country allows a person to reside or settle at any part of the country. So the justifications does not make any sense at all . It just promotes regionalism.
Just look at the bigger picture . Imagine every state has a party that comes up and fights for priority for their own state people. Now its just jobs and education ,next they will say we don’t want them to live in our state because they use more resources like food ,electricity etc and they beat up people . Eventually .people will stop going to other states . Woudn’t that be a big blow to the integrity of the nation as a whole . Imagine a time when our country of over a billion people are limited within states . The time when INDIA will be a nation as whole only on the world MAP .Do we need such regional divides too when the country is still searching for way to curb communal and cultural divides !!!
Former prime minister benazir bhutto was assasinated last night at around 6:15 pm (pakistan std time) when she was leaving an election rally in which about 50000 workers were present.
Two people shot her from a close range using an Ak -47 rifle when she was inside the car injuring her neck and head which proved to be fatal .After this incident the millitants blew themselves up injuring 40 people and leaving 20 poeple dead.
Why dint the govenment give a bulletproof vehicle for her .
What was the security guards doing when the millitants approached so close to her vehicle with a gun like AK -47
I heard that after the blast no body went near benazir bhutto ‘s body for about 10 minutes to the havoc created..Isn’t that ridiculous..??may be ,she might survived if she had been taken to hospital earlier
Nawab sheriff said he is boycotting the elections ..Now what purpose does that serve..??
After so much talks and drama around the presidency post in india finally the inevitable news was out declaring PRATIBHA PATIL as the first women president of INDIA.She won by a record margin of over 3 lakh votes which is quite overwhelming.
SHe managed to pull up a whopping 6,38,116 votes against his main opponent MR shekhawat who got just 3,313,06 votes. MR. shekhawat who was VICE president of INDIA soon resigned from the post.
WELL , IN a country where there is fuzz about women not getting equal rights (which according to me is not correct) ,it is ironic that that a women became the president.I think at least from now on accusisions will stop abt women in india not getting equal rights.
Yesdterday while i was surfing through the channels i came accross NDTV 24*7 ..they were showing result of some kind of a pol..when i waited to see the details of the poll i found that those were the results of a poll for the post of president(just a mock one).In that poll veiwers were asked to vote for the candidate they wanted to be in the post of president…around 30000 odd ppl participated in this poll..well, the results were not at all shocking as far i was concerned…MR A P J kalam got the maximum votes ,a whopping 69 percent ahead of MR shekhawat who got 17 percent ,followed be Mrs patil who got a 14 percent votes…i was quite delighted when i saw the results but soon that was changed into a despair because mr kalam was already out of the election .infact he wasn’t filling his nomonation papers as well..
i just thought that we are living in a democracy why can’t we elect our president too..the post of president is supposed to be the strongest one..i know it could be quite an intricate process but the parties instead of supporting on basis of credibility ,are supporting their own party members or the allied ones so that it could be usefull for them in the future…they are taking this post too into the political arena, infact this was the foremost reason why mr kalam opted out of the election…alas!! he cant be our president….See,let me clarify it that i am not against the other candidates ..why i have blogged this post is because i am firm supporter of MR.kalam..and still believe kalam should have got a second term..
