MY PC IS ALLERGIC TO ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE !!! :(

Welcome back after the short Diwali break . I hope u had a rocking time with ur family 🙂 .

Well, the pic on the left is exactly how i am feeling right now cuz my PC is really fucked up.  It  is having a strange problem when it comes to compatibility with anti virus softwares , Seems strange huh ??  ITs true . My PC starts acting weirdly when ever i have an anti virus installed in it . The anti virus has turned out to be Anti Os for my case :D.

IT all started about six months back when i had installed AVG anit virus , the crappiest anti virus of all time , My OS was stable but it used to take a whopping 40-50 MB of my memory for one of its process . Thats too much considering that i just have a 256 DDR ram . Being a game freak i was not able to play any games . The game used to crash after sometime because of low memory . And moreover The anit virus never found the virus even though i know there were many 😛 . SO i decided to remove the anit virus .

My system was happy as soon as i uninstalled AVG and it started working normally . For many months i dint install any anit virus . And IT should have stayed like that But unfortunately one fine morning i decided to use kasperesky . and guess what , My pc fell ill again . It used to restart every 30 minutes or so automatically . Sometimes even before that . Yeah , the mighty anti-virus seems to have some differences with my OS 😦 . So i removed it too .

And my system started working fine again as good as new . DAMN !! what a crazy system I have !! Anyways i decided never to install any anti virus again . But Yesterday when i tried to connect my W810i to my freinds PC to transfer some Photos ,it showed some alert .Apperantly my memory card had a virus . I was impressed so i came back home and tried that anti virus Bit Defender pro . It took hell lot of time to install and finally when i scanned my PC it showed one VIrus/trojan and quarantined it . It was the first time any anit virus software had detected a virus since the day i had installed SP2 . Then when i restarted the System after boot up it showed an error .Cannot find windows script file C:/windows/system32/virusremoval.vbs .Thats when the problem started again . AS soon as the error popped up ,my Desktop disappeared . And since then my Desktop/taskbar/applications are playing hide and seek with me . I tried uninstalling the BIt diffender but no use . Apperantly the stupid anti virus deleted some system file too .along with the virus.  I thought of  system restore but guess what   there were no restore points . Can u beleive it ??  The only option left is to reinstall the OS but I need to get rid of 2 problems .First , I need to backup some of the files that are still stored in C drive but the Mycomputer wouldn’t open 😦 .Second , I have the OS on DVD and my DVD drive isn’t working 😦 .

How helpless can a man get ??

The only thing working fine are my speakers and my modem 😦 . Even now ,my firefox is running without a desktop in the background 😛 . IT took 15 minutes to find a way to open the browser . Wow, amidst all this i have successfully written a post . Anyways i am leaving now … Got to do something with my system .

How To Play Counter strike online ?

Now the major problem people face when it comes to playing counter strike is they dont know how to play it online . I faced this problem when i started and almost all the newbies face it too .

Why online ???

Yes, you do have bots with whom u can play with but then artificial intelligence of the computer players isn”t that good . It provides u with easy,normal hard and expert modes but it will soon get monotonous as the stratergies of computer are preprogrammed .You can experiece real thrill  when u play against humans .

How to play online

There are 3 ways i know ,that can be used for playing counter strike online

Steam

Non steam

Garena

hamachi

STEAM

1. Get urself a original CS(Anthology pack ) which costs around 400-500 bucks .
2. GO to Steam powered site and click on Get steam now (free download) .
3. Once u download the client . Install it and then  get a free account .
   
4. Go to settings and activate ur account by entering ur product key that u got with the CS pack .
5. Launch the game and hit find servers . Join any game and enjoy .. another way is to use the console section which get by pressing `  ,once the window opens u can type connect followed by the ip address of steam servers . You can find the IP address on Game monitor site.

STeam is the best option to play online as u get very less pings which helps the game to be lag free .

However ,if u are miser enough then i would advice u to try the methods below

NON STEAM

It is the simplest one. You need not have an original copy of CS to play .Download it  free or borrow from ur freind and you are ready to play online . Hit the Find servers option  . You will get a list of servers which can be filtered using the filters option.

99 percent of the servers in the list will be chinese,malasian,korean and japanese .SO if u are from india most of the times u will be kicked out of the servers due to high ping .Or else you wont be able to join because most of those servers are sxe protected . Sxe is a anti-hack tool that prevents players from hacking . So download sxe client and run it before u join the game .

Non steam servers are hard to find . A guy must have created a dedicated non steam server . If you have a stable connection you can try creating non steam server through this process .

GARENA

Garena is a gaming client that connects thousands of gamers across the world and the best feature is ,it can be used for various games like Age of empires ,Call of Duty , Warcraft (DOTA) etc .It Creates a vitural lan between all the people who are using the client .

1. Go here and download Garena.exe .
2. Next,run the exe file and install the client .
3. Now get yourself a free user name and password on the official garena site .
4. Using the ID and password login into the client .
5. GO to settings and in game exe area select the Hl.exe file .
6. Next go to lobby and select counter strike 1.6 and join ur country room .For indians – go to international -> V.street room
7. Now from the client start the game .
8. In the game ,go to console window by pressing ` and type SLIST . You will be able to see a lot of servers with numbers along with it  . Join any game by typing – CONNECT followed by the  server’s position  for ex . for server no 3 type CONNECT 3.  OR you can join server using  ur LAN section too  but i have found that many servers does not get displayed there .

Servers can be laggy while played through this .However u can make it a little better by right clicking host id and then going to Optimize connection->tunnel or anti-spike .If it still lags quit the server and join another and if u are not satisfied still buy original CS and get a steam :D. Better Internet connection would help too .

HAMACHI CLIENT

1. Download Hamachi from here .
2. After installing it , create a network using the option below in the hamachi window  or else u can join existing netwrok of ur friends .If u have created the netwrok u need to invite people to join ur network.
3. Now u can join a  server by using the command Connect host_IPaddress . Remember that IP address should be the one hamachi shows not ur computer IP address  . for ex- connect 5.135.23.34 and if u create the server ask ur netwrok freinds to connect using ur hamachi ip_address .
4. Now sometimes while trying to connect u get class C errors whihc happens when the first 2 sections of ip address are not same . so for that the host need to do the following steps

• Go to window and check the box show advanced options .
• Then right click on the players name and click on advanced.
• On the Peer VPN alias box enter the first three parts of ur(if u are the host,otherwise host;s address ) Hamachi IP address and  add the last part of the player’s IP address such that it is different from other players .

For ex – you are the host , ur IP is 5.24.23.122 and the player who wishes to join has and address 5.36.34.456 then all u need to is set is IP as 5.24.23.1 using VPN alias box .similarly for other players u can change the last part as 2,3,4 etc.

ONE DAY AT THE CALL CENTER

Ladies and gentlemen  , i hereby announce that this is very much the real me and not my ghost . Yes , i am alive . I have been doing the disappearing act for the last 2 weeks .Well,had been a little busy so couldn’t read ur blogs and couldn’t even reply to ur comments for my last post  😦 . Anyway it took my last 2 hours to read all the unread posts in my reader . PHEW !!!!  Having so many good blogs that u cant stop reading isn’t easy !!!  🙂

Now , coming back to the post , before u make any conclusions let me tell u this post has nothing to do with the novel One night at the call center or with its author Chetan bhagat 😛 .The only reason that made to keep this title was to make u guys a little  curious 😛 .

Well ,most of u know that i have been ranting here in my blog about not getting my joining date 😦  .  I have been trying to find some alternatives but considering that  IT industry  is in deep shit ,its very unlikely that i would be able to find a new job . So for the mean time me and my friends thought of  geting into some BPO/callcenter till our respective recruiters gives us joining date  .

Yesterday as planned we( 5 of us) decided to go to a reputed BPO here in chennai where they have walk in’s daily .Along with another guy, i  reached the place at about 11 and were surprised to see more than 100 students already there waiting ,apparently many for them were like us , fresh ,bright and useless engineers 😛 .

Almost all of them were carrying big files which were supposedly containing their certificates .WE had none .We were just carrying our resumes in hand. Once my other friends came we decided to give our resume in the reception .AFter an hour or so we were called and had some kind of registration . Then we were asked to wait again. We were happy to get some unoccupied seats 🙂 .  30 minutes later we had initial screening . WE were asked to sit in a group of  about 10 ppl  .The HR gave a brief overview about the company and after which she asked each one of us to  tell us about our favorite fruit . Funny eh ?? they supposedly wanted to know how good we speak  .After last guy spoke she wrote something in each one of our resumes and gave to us.  Then their was a panel round where we were bombarded with questions by 2 HR’s .  We were then separated in voice and non voice groups .Apparently those who spoke well were allotted  voice and others non voice .

ME and one of my friend were got voice and other 3 got  non voice . One guy left without completing the interview further because he dint want non voice .OTher two guys were about to leave too but we convinced them to stay . Me and the guy who was selected for voice were asked to go to another center 20 km away for having an interview with some manager .Meanwhile the nonvoice candidates were given a peice of paper and asked to write about some topic 😛

WE started at about 530 and reached the main office at 7 . We waited there till 9 30  and observed how ppl were working there . It was kinda boring and we were becoming restless .IT was quite an odd time to have an interview isn’t it .When i couldn’t stand more  i went and said that i am not interested anymore , I will leave ..But the guy insisted that within 10 minutes u will have ur interview .. after 10 minutes the guy came and started the interview and guess what the same old questions ..Tell me abt urslelf  blah blah.  We finished it off and started to move out .The HR asked us to come for an apti round tomorrow  ( i.e. today ) which was supposed to be just an eyewash .

Other 2 friends who were giving their last round got rejected  cuz one of them got so pissed off that he spoke arrogantly to the HRs  😛 . SO me and other guy too dropped the idea of joining as we had lost the interest. After reaching home we had a group chat and we decided to go to some other BPO to try our luck   😛 .

Its almost 1:30 and my eyes are burning ..sorry if the post has some errors not rechecking it now…. gonna hit the bed  .

Iphone 3G

Well , Everyones love is finally here . Apple’s Iphone 3g probably has been the most anticipated phone ever . The long wait was finally over yesterday as the people were able to hold something that they wanted the most .

Two versions of iphone have been realeased one with 8 gb memory and the other one 16 gb and they cost around RS 31000 and RS 36000 respectively . Well, that might shock you as the iphone costs in US just around 200 $ which is around 8000 Rupees.

The phone comes either with airtel or vodaphone subscription similar to AT&T in US , which means that once u buy it u cannot change the network . Ofcourse , you can always unlock the phone but be ready to loose your warranty 😛 .

I read an interesting post by Soham yesterday who has written his experiece with iphone till . You can read it full here . HE has mentioned why he loves his iphone so much but the interesting thing which caught my attention was some of the limitations he mentioned like no sms fowrwarding, no camera zoom , cant transfer files from bluetooth 😛 (wonder why they have kept bluetooth then ) etc .

Most importantly ,the word 3g itself is quite meaningless in india as there are no 3g networks available here in india . And i dont see it coming any soon 😛 . So personally i dont feel ITs right time to buy iphone .

I have always wanted to buy an iphone ever since it was launched in US but then i guess the price is a big hurdle for me ,perhaps it would be for almost every middle class inidan . I am just waiting for all the craze to get over . I am sure the price would drop below 20k mark soon then i can lay my hands on it 😀 . People who are seriously interested in buying iphone at a cheaper price can either wait like me or can settle with this for now 😆 .
