YET ANOTHER LAME STEP TO CONTROL SMOKING

Do you Smoke???

Do you want to stop smoking???

Well, the govenment comes up with another feeble and tentative idea in their campaign against tobacco consumption in india. .Read this.

I personally feel that  putting up scary pictures like tobacco related diseases  in the cigarette packets is totally absurd and shows their careless approach towards smoking. These politicians sitting in its haunches take years to come up with some idea and that too a foolish one . i dont understand the motive behind it.It seems like the old technique parents use to refrain children from doing something by scaring them.

I think the people (including smokers) nowadays are very much aware of the harmfull affects of smoking and inspite of that they smoke  and i can hardly think of  anyone quiting smoking by looking at those scary yet true pictures. The govenment has justified its idea by gicving an example where the consumption of tobacco has  decreased by 3 percent .Well, they did another mistake by comparing cannada with india where most of tobacco sonsumption community lives in villages. Well, i dont think the idea will work in villages too where people might be ignorant of the effects of tobacco , i dont think they use branded cigarettes .The only means of consuming  tobacco for them is raw tobacco and bidi’s .I dont think the government can manage to print those scary pictures in those home made tobacco packets. So what is the need of such a queer and unconvincing idea???

The warning message in ciggrete packets had been implemented long back. i dont thing anyone even bothers seeing that and even those who manage to look at it, ignore it.i dont thing there has been any decrease in its consumption ,perhaps , it has only increased. The consumption of tobacco among youngsters is mainly due to the fact that they think it as a fashion statement and by the time they realize that its harmful for them they are already addicted to it. Studied in college i personally known some guys who started smoking as an enjoyment and to flaunt their maturity but now are finding hard time quiting it even after its harmfull effects are known to them .

Inspite of implementing these absurd and  good for nothing ideas wouldn’t it be wise to establish more rehabilitation centres and conducting more seminars about smoking in schools. I also dont understand why the government doesn’t impose a BAN on tobacco related products.Just for the sake of commission from the product manufacturers, the group of people here who call themselves government  ,risk the whole countries population by allowing them to sell their products.

I seriously dont know whether to laugh at the foolish and feeble idea they are going to implement or to feel happy as atlast something is being done to control tobacco consumption in india.

HAPPY DAYS .. Feel the Nostalgia!!

Happy Days , It’s surely one of the better movies i have seen in a long long time having a perfect characterization ,direction ,music everything that a movie needs.

Well, Its not everytime i get to see a movie till night 2:30 having internal exams next day morning but the movie has somthing about it that catches ur attention and keeps u engrossed to screen through out the movie. The only regret i had after watching the movie was “Why the hell i dint go to theater ???” .ofcourse the print was good in the DVD but still i had a feeling the movie would have been much better if  seen in theater with a bunch of friends.

Well, the movie is about the college life (engineering life) of 8 students.. chandu , Rajesh , Tyson , Shankar , Madhu , Apu , sangeetha and shravanthi .The first seven are freshers while shravanthi is their senior. The story starts with their first day in college (CBIT campus) with seniors ragging them ,and this is the time when all of them get acquainted with each other and start moving with each other very well.. writing assignments for seniors , seniors drooling over girls, senior junior fights , crushes with teachers.. everything depicted in the movie seems to be so real that you get transported to that world.I am sure every student or any person for that matter can relate himself with atleast some part of the story.

The characterization  of the movie is just infallible. There was nothing flamboyant about the characters ,everybody seemed to be a normal student which is what we expect.Except madhu (Tamanna) all are new faces and everybody have played their roles perfectly. The story moves on really well in the first half with tyson fliritng with his senior shravanthi, rajesh finding new ways to get  revenge with seniors and a  nice chemistry between chandu and madhu really sets the pace up.I must bring tyson’s name here whose performance is by far the best in the movie ,a mixture innocence and intelligence in his character  together grips you immensely.

Second half is a bit slow and tends to mix all the emotional content of a student life as misunderstandings, jealousy, between the friends takes them away from each other. However, they do manage to sought it out afterwards before finishing their college. Second half is much more to be felt than to be described here. The songs are soothing and revitalizes ur old memories..i love the songs personally speaking and it still echoes into my ears.

Well,I would give th movie “a must see ” label to it.Though some may see it as a film directed towards the student community , i feel that even the working community must have passed this stage of life sometime and its a good time to live back your “HAPPY DAYS”.

WATCH HAPPY DAYS and FEEL THE NOSTALGIA!!!

FINAL CLASH WITH THE TITANS!!!

After winning the twenty 20 world cup a lot more was expected from the indian team’s home series against australia then a shamefull series defeat by 4-2, thanks to the rain god, otherwise it would have been 5-2 for sure.

One thing that has been clear after this defeat is that india has a long way to go to reach what australia are today. From the day i started my blog i have talking about the enigmatism of the indian cricket and this series defeat just after the 20-20 world cup win proves it 😛 . I just can’t understand what makes australia so special whether its the commitment or the confidence that oozes out , everything that australia does comes out good. Anyway i am not here to talk about australia.

This whole series has been full of drama , uthapa’s dare devil talks before the start of the series ,sreshant’s aggression ,bhaji’s remarks on australian tactics, controversial news regarding the racial abuse of symonds the series has been more than just a game. I personally feel that symonds has proved his arrogance by complaining about the racial abuses.I mean its part and parcel of the game. You cant just stop spectators doing such things ,only that can be done to stop is to lock the stadium and play in an empty stadium.well, according to me australia has been showing aggression in the wrong manner for almost a decade now but no body questions them because they are the world champions .

Most disappointing part of the series has been the failure of dravid ,however i am totally against the idea dropping him, he has been like a wall the time since he has joined the team and moreover the bench strenght of our team is quite weak and there is no body to replace the big three. I wonder when people who have done nothing for the indian cricket would stop questioning sachin . I dont understand what do they want from him ..do they expect him to hit a century everytime he plays. He was the only batsmen to score some runs in this series.

Today is the last game in the series and a last chance for the inidan team to prove that winning the twenty 20 cup wasn’t a fluke.Perhaps, also the last possible chance to salvage the already wrecked pride . Lets hope for the best… :P.

AAh!! Finally ,I am posting…

Well, its been just a week or so since i posted something on my blog but feels like it has been eternity. To be very frank i am still a novice in blogging (plz dont go with my stats and no. of posts, they are so illusive 😛 ). I dont have really that many regular readers who keep coming back to my blog so can’t expect them to miss me but i really missed my readers (though, very few) and also their blogs.

Well, i dont have any apt reason to say for not blogging . My mind was obsessed with something else for the last few days (cant reveal it here ,atleast for now),also had internal exam ( but cant blame it , i know i had been hardly in touch with books ).

Anyway, i am back and feeling very good about it.

thats it for now.. 🙂
